"Little House on the Prairie"

This sample program outlines some of the activities your clients may experience at The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm. Please remember the itinerary may be changed according to your clients requests. Our programs are all inclusive and often include additional events in our area such as local rodeos, country church services, music festivals, craft shows, pow wows, community country functions and Canadian celebrations. All our guests at The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm are completely immersed in a natural, safe and healthy Canadian environment.

DAY ONE: Welcoming meet and greet at the Regina Airport. Departing Regina we travel out into the "big sky" country of rural Saskatchewan. Only 25 minutes from the Regina Airport we arrive at the beautiful Fieldstone Inn. The Fieldstone Inn is a 3600 square foot stone heritage home, nestled on the Southern slopes of the Qu’Appelle Valley. Our property is surrounded by over 500 acres of natural beauty and wildlife. Upon arrival we settle in and take a walk about the farm. We introduce you to our two or four legged Fieldstone Inn family which includes, horses, chickens, goats, dogs, cats, Abraham our miniature donkey, and of course Cliff the pygmy goat. Then we enjoy dinner together and watch a spectacular Saskatchewan sunset, on the veranda overlooking the Qu’Appelle Valley.

DAY TWO: This morning we start off with our farm chores (feeding the animals and collecting fresh eggs). Then return to the house and dine to the smells of a Canadian country breakfast. Following breakfast we take a nature hike through Hidden Valley Nature Refuge which is adjacent to The Fieldstone Inn. The nature refuge contains 360 acres of hiking trails and is abundant with wildlife, wild flowers, herbs and berries. Depending on time of year we may pick berries (chokecherries, saskatoon or raspberries) for cooking. During our hike we will reach a spot where you will see a full 360 horizon of complete natural surroundings and have a picnic lunch. It is simply spectacular! We will also be looking for deer, unique birds, wildflowers and exploring the unlimited trails in the nature refuge. Afternoon return to The Fieldstone Inn. Optional afternoon of relaxing, craft class, gardening, farm work, canoeing it is up to you. Late afternoon begin preparing for our evening BBQ dinner. Following dinner we spend the evening star gazing, hoping to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). Since there are no distractions from city lights at The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm, star gazing is at its best!

DAY THREE: Following chores and breakfast today we either take in one of the many local events in the area, tour Regina Beach or spend the morning shopping and sightseeing in Regina. It depends on the time of year and clients request. If we tour Regina we will visit the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Training Academy, Canada’s only official training academy and museum. Other stops today may include "Cow Town" a very popular western wear store. Also a grocery store and shopping mall. Afternoon return to The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm. Following dinner we teach our guest horse driving. Together with Russ you will learn to harness a team of Belgian horses and take a horse drawn wagon ride down the Qu’Appelle Valley. This activity is very exciting for our guests and very safe since you will be working with Russ your own "wagon master". Returning to the farm we experience a real Fieldstone Inn tradition. We bake bannock (campfire bread) over an open fire and enjoy a warm cup of Maple Tea!

DAY FOUR: This day depends on your departure flight times. If you have the morning available it may be spent visiting our local buffalo jump which is surrounded by historic tee pee rings, fishing, canoeing or just enjoy some free time to explore the farm. Unfortunately all good things must come to end as we say our farewells and depart The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm. Transfer to the Regina Airport for departing flight.
