This information outlines some of the activities experienced during our
Learn English the Natural Way Program. The University of Regina English as a Second Language Centre and The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm have joined to offer an all inclusive, exciting alternative to learning English in both the classroom and the great Canadian outdoors! The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm is only 25 minutes from the University of Regina. All activities at The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm and the University of Regina are in English. Our programs are all inclusive with certified English instruction which may be extended or shortened, depending on the clients request. This program also includes additional events such as local rodeos, community BBQ’S and Canadian celebrations. We feel to learn English you must experience it. Our guests are completely immersed in a natural, safe, Canadian environment.Day One: Welcoming meet and greet at the Regina Airport. Departing Regina we travel out into the "big sky" country of rural Saskatchewan. Only 25 minutes from the Regina Airport we arrive at the beautiful Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm. During your stay you will enjoy the elegance of the Fieldstone Inn homestead, which is a 3600 square foot stone heritage home, nestled on the Southern slopes of the Qu’Appelle Valley. The Fieldstone Inn Farm consists of over 500 acres of natural beauty and wildlife. Upon arrival we take a walk about the farm. We introduce you to our Fieldstone Inn Farm family of animals which includes: horses, goats, donkey, geese, cows, chickens, cats, dogs and a variety a wildlife. Following a tour of the farm, we enjoy dinner watching a famous Saskatchewan sunset, on the veranda overlooking the Qu’Appelle Valley.
Day Two:
Rise and dine to the smells of a Canadian country breakfast. Depending on the weather, breakfast is usually enjoyed outside on the veranda or in the dinning room. Both have a wonderful view of the Qu’Appelle Valley. Following breakfast, we do our chores (feeding the farm animals). Then you have time to take a nature hike through the Hidden Valley Nature Refuge which is adjacent to the Fieldstone Inn Farm. The nature refuge contains 360 acres of natural hiking trails and is abundant with wildlife. At the top of the nature refuge you may see 360 horizons of complete natural surroundings. Today you will be looking for deer, unique birds, wildflowers and exploring unlimited hiking trails. Picnic lunch. Afternoon travel only 25 minutes to the University of Regina Campus for enrollment and your first ESL class provided by the English as a Second Language Centre. Late afternoon return to the farm and help prepare for evening BBQ dinner. Following dinner we spend the evening star gazing, hoping to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). Since there are no distractions from city lights, the Fieldstone Inn Farm offers star gazing and night viewing at its best!Day Three:
Following breakfast & farm chores, we depart the farm to visit Saskatchewan’s capital city, Regina. Today we tour through the "Queen City" stopping at the home of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Training Academy, Canada’s only official RCMP training academy and museum. Other stops today may include "Cow Town" a very popular western wear store. Also we may visit a grocery store and shopping mall. This afternoon we go to the University of Regina and attend English Class at the English as a Second Language Centre. Evening return to the farm. Following dinner we hitch up King and Benny our (Blonde Belgium horse team) and take a horse drawn wagon ride down the Qu’Appelle Valley. Returning to the farm we experience a real Fieldstone Inn tradition. We bake bannock (campfire bread) over an open fire and enjoy a warm cup of Maple Tea.Day Four: Following breakfast & farm chores, today we become real outdoorsmen as we teach you how to fish or canoe on the Qu’Appelle River. The Qu’Appelle River runs through the Fieldstone Inn Farm property and is home to many types of animals from Northern Pike, Pelicans to Canadian Beavers. This afternoon we return to the University of Regina and attend our English Class at the English as a Second Language Center. Late afternoon return to The Fieldstone Inn Vacation Farm. Following dinner we take a driving tour down the Qu’Appelle Valley 4 km’s to a historic First Nations Buffalo Jump, where you will see many Tee Pee rings from a very old First Nations settlement. Returning to the farm we stop at our favorite ice cream shop. Enjoy!
Day Five: Following breakfast & farm chores, we take a trip to the local market gardens, where we buy fresh locally grown vegetables and preserves. Here you will see how fresh fruits and vegetables are harvested in Saskatchewan. This afternoon we return to the University of Regina and attend our last English Class at the English as a Second Language Center, where you will receive your University of Regina ESL Certificate. Return to farm for dinner, this evening you become real cowboys or cowgirls as you experience a lesson on horse handling the Western Way.

Day Six: Since this is your last day at the Fieldstone Inn Farm, you may pick and choose what activity you would like to do. Your options may be hiking, horse handling, making crafts, canoeing, fishing, biking or just relaxing on the veranda! This afternoon we return to the University of Regina and attend our last English Class at the English as a Second Language Center. Tonight we prepare for our special farewell dinner which is a grade "A" Canadian Steak, prepared on the outdoor BBQ. Following dinner relax around the campfire.
Day Seven: Following breakfast, we say our farewells to the Fieldstone Inn family and depart for the Regina Airport.
